Synthesis of Aromatic Hydrocarbon - formaldehyde Resin and Its Miscibility with Rubbers

Abstract

Xylene-formaldehyde resin (XFR) and anthracene were reacted in the presence of acid catalyst to obtain XFR-anthracene resin (XFAR). The effects of reaction conditions, such as anthracene/XFR feed ratio, amount of acid catalyst, reaction time, and reaction temperature, on the average molecular weight (M(w)) of the XFAR were examined. The relationship between (M(w)) and glass transition temperature (T(g)) of the XFAR was also established. The miscibility between the XFAR and a few types of rubbers were studied by monitering the T(g) variation with a differential scanning calorimeter.

초록

자일렌-포름알데히드 수지(XFR)와 안트라센을 산촉매 존재 하에서 반응시켜 XFR-안트라센 수지(XFAR)를 합성하는 경우 안트라센/XFR 공급비, 산촉매 양, 반응온도, 반응시간이 얻어지는 XFAR의 중량평균분자량 (M(w))에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, M(w))와 유리전이온도 사이의 관계식을 구하였다. 또, XFAR을 몇 가지 고무와 블렌딩하는 경우 상용성 정도를 시차주사열량계로 유리전이온도를 측정하여 조사하였다.
