Review Regulations
Paper Review Regulations of the Applied Chemistry for Engineering
1. These regulations shall be observed for review and acceptance of research paper. Notes and comments shall be regarded as paper.
2. Paper review shall be commissioned to three judges. The editor-in-chief shall appoint the judges by recommendation of the editorial director or editors after the editorial director categorizes paper’s field of study. The list of the judges shall not be made public.
3.Review results shall be divided to “acceptable” and “unacceptable.” If research paper is “acceptable,” the paper shall be classified to “no revision,” “acceptance after revision,” and “reexamination after revision.”
1) If research paper is classified to “no revision” along with “acceptable,” the paper shall be accepted without revision.
2) If research paper is classified to “acceptance after revision” along with “acceptable,” the paper shall be accepted after the authors revise the paper to reflect recommendations by the judges and the editorial director confirms the revision.
3) If research paper is classified to “reexamination after revision” along with “acceptable,” the authors shall make a request for reexamination to the judges after revising the paper to reflect recommendations by the judges.
4) If the authors do not give a reply for four months after the revision request date, the paper is automatically classified to “unacceptable.”
5) If research paper does not comply with the paper submission regulations, the paper may be classified to “unpublishable.”
4. Review results shall be notified only to the authors but not made public.
5. If the judges acknowledge that content of research paper applies to one of the following items, they may classify the paper to “acceptance after revision” or “reexamination after revision” and provide the specific recommendations in the review comment to ask for revision or supplement.
1) When content is not clearly described.
2) When figures and tables are not sufficiently or clearly displayed or explained and do not show any consistency.
3) When it is considered to require other revision or supplement.
6. If the judges acknowledge that content of research paper applies to one of the following items, they shall classify the paper to “unacceptable” and point out specific reason(s) in the review comment.
1) When originality is not clear.
2) When there is no clear difference between the results of study by the authors and the results of the previous study by other authors.
3) When it is considered to be inappropriate to publish the paper in this journal.
7.If the editor-in-chief acknowledges that research paper does not comply with the paper submission regulations, submission of the paper may not be accepted.
8.If manuscript is written in a foreign language with an unclear context or difficulty in grammatical understanding, the editorial board or the judges may make a request of revision to the authors or recommend the authors to write the manuscript in Korean and submit it again.
9.Research paper shall be processed in accordance with the decision by the judges. When it is impossible to clarify if the paper is acceptable or not, the editorial board shall deliberate on the paper to decide publication of the paper.
10. The editor-in-chief shall make the final decision over publication of the submitted paper unless there are other particular reasons. However, the editor-in-chief may delegate the task to the editorial director or the editorial board as occasion demands.
11.Judges shall examine the requested paper within 15 days after the judges are appointed for paper examination. They shall return review results and review comment along with the manuscript to this society.
12.If judges do not submit review results within 30 days after they are appointed for paper examination, the request for paper examination may be cancelled. In this case, the manuscript shall be returned to this society immediately.
13.This society shall send copy of review results to the authors within one week after it receives the review results from the judges.
14.When research paper is completely reviewed and expected to be published, this society shall notify the authors of paper publication within one week after the completion of review.
