Preparation of HDPE / Polyaniline Conducting Composites and Their Electrical Properties

Abstract

Conducting composite in powder form was prepared by blending high density polyethylene (HDPE) and polyaniline (PANI) as a matrix and a conducting polymer in xylene, respectively. The PANI was protonated with dodecylbenznesulfonic acid (DBSA) or camphorsulfonic acid (CSA). Films of the composite was prepared by compression molding. The electrical conductivity was measured by a 4-probe method as a function of the amount of PANI and temperature. When the content of PANI was 25 wt%, the electrical conductivity of the composite increased to 2.62 S/cm. The percolation threshold was found to be at the vicinity of 12 wt% PANI content.

메트릭스 수지로 고밀도 폴리에틸렌(HDPE)과 전도성 고분자인 폴리아닐린(PANI)과의 파우더 복합체를 용액 블렌딩법으로 제조하였다. PANI는 분자량이 큰 유기산 dodecylbenznesulfonic acid (DBSA)와 camphorsulfonic acid (CSA)로 도핑하였다. 복합체의 필름은 압축 성형법으로 제조하였으며 필름의 전기전도도는 전도성 고분자 PANI의 함량과 도판트 종류에 따라 저온, 고온 영역에서 4단자법으로 측정하였다. PANI의 함량이 25 wt%일 때 전기전도도는 2.62 S/cm까지 증가하였으며, percolation threshold는 PANI 함량이 12 wt% 근처에서 나타났다.
