Solid base catalysts have many advantages over homogeneous base catalysts. Their separation from liquid products is much easier and they are reusable. they are environmentally benign presenting the decreases of both reactor corrosion and wastewater disposal. In this paper, the solid base catalysts and their applications to chemical reactions are briefly introduced for understanding the recent trend in replacing liquid base catalysts with solid ones.

고체 염기촉매는 균일계 염기촉매에 비해서 액상 생성물로부터의 분리가 용이하고, 촉매 재사용이 가능하며, 장치 부식과 폐수에 의한 환경문제가 감소되는 등 여러 가지 측면에서 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 액체 염기촉매를 고체 염기촉매로 대체해 가는 최근의 연구동향을 이해하는 데에 도움을 주고자, 고체 염기촉매에 대한 개요 및 이를 이용한 화학반응을 간략히 소개한다.
