Research Papers : A Study on the Printed-paper Coating by Polystyrene/Polymethylmethacrylate Blend System

Abstract

N/ASix different poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (P-SMA) as a compatibilizer in the PS/PMMA blend system were synthesized by radical copolymerization of styrene with maleic anhydride (MAH). The application as a coating agent on the printed paper and the physical properties of the film surface prepared by the blend of the synthesized P-SMA with a commercial compatibilizer (SMA) and PS/PMMA blend were investigated. The composition of MAH in the synthesized P-SMA is ranged between 8.0 and 26.0 wt%, and the weight average molecular weight of P-SMA is from 26,000 to 138,000. The domain size of PMMA in the PS/P-SMA/PMMA (80/5/15) blend decreased in the order of SMA>P-SMA15>P-SMA20>P-SMA8. 초록

Polstyrene (PS)/polymethylmetacrylate(PMMA) 블렌드계의 상용화제로서 styrene과 maleic anhydride (MAH)를 라디칼 공중합하여 poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (P-SMA) 6종을 합성하였다. 합성한 SMA를 PS 및 PMMA 수지와 용액 블렌딩한 필름의 표면상태 및 제조한 블렌드물을 인쇄지용 코팅제로서 코팅한 인쇄지 도막의 물성을 조사하였다. 합섯ㅇ한 P-SMA 공중합체의 MAH 조성은 8.0-26.0 wt%로 정량되었고, 중량평균분자량은 26000-138000의 범위로 나타났다.
