Research Papers : A Study on Optimization of Spray Type Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) System

Abstract

Recently, due to narrow margin on design factor of flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems or aging of systems, some problems such as decrease of SO2 removal efficiency and difficulty on coping with unstable state are arising on FGD systems. On this study, to cope with these problems several methods such as adjustment of reagent pH, inlet SO2 concentration, variation of units of operation pump, installation of liquid distribution ring (LDR) were attempted to increase the SO2 removal using spray type simulated FGD system. Also, sulfite and Al/Fx ion effects on limestone blinding were experimented. When three absorber recirculation pumps were operated, SO2 removal was increased by 12% in comparison with that of two pumps operation. SO2 removal was increased by 2∼7% after installation of LDR. Dissolved oxygen increased up to 0.5 ppm and limestone binding effect was alleviated after injection of dibasic acid (DBA) with the concentration of 500 and 1,000 ppm. When Al3+and F- ions were coexisting, the dissolution rate of limestone was decreased by 20%.

초록

현재 국내 화력발전소에서 운영중인 일부 배연탈황설비는 건설비 절감을 위해 설계시 여유율을 축소하여 비정상상태 에 대응이 어렵고, 노후화 등으로 탈황효율이 저하하는 등 일부의 문제점이 제기되고 있다. 이러한 문제점에 대응하기 위해, 본 논문에서는 흡수액의 pH, 입구 SO2 농도, 운전 단수 변경 및 liquid distribution ring (LDR) 등의 탈황설비의 운전 조건 변경에 따른 탈황율을 검토하였으며, sulfite 이온 및 Al/Fx 이온이 석회석의 blinding에 미치는 효과에 대해 실험하였다. 흡수액 재순환 펌프를 3대 운전하였을 때는 2대 운전했을 때와 비교하여 탈황율이 최대 12% 향상하였고, LDR을 설치함에 따라 탈황효은 약 2∼7%가 향상하였다. Limestone blinding 현상이 발생한 흡수액에 dibasic acid (DBA)를 500, 1,000 ppm 주입하였을 때 흡수액 용존산소가 0.5 ppm 이상 증가하며, limestone blinding 현상을 완화하였 다. 흡수액 중에 Al3+, F- 이온이 공존한 경우 석회석 용해속도는 20% 감소하였다.
