Research Papers : Synthesis of TiO2 Particles in Water from Subcritical to Supercritical Conditions

Abstract

Synthesis of TiO_(2) particles in sub/supercritical water and their properties have been studied. TiCl_(4) and Ti(SO_(4))_(2) were selected as the Ti source and TiO_(2) particles have been synthesized from them. It was observed that the fine particles were formed in spite of short residence time of less than 1 min. It was also observed that the particle size and structure were dependent on the reactants and reaction temperature. It was possible to synthesize the TiO_(2) particles with a specific structure and they were used to develop a catalyst which could decompose trichloroethylene (TCE).

초록

아임계 및 초임계수 하에서 TiO₂입자의 제조와 합성된 입자의 특성에 대하여 조사하였다. 타이타늄의 원료로는 TiCl₄와 Ti(SO₄)₂를 선택하여 TiO₂입자를 합성하였다. 짧은 반응시간( < 1 min)에도 불구하고 미세입자가 생성됨이 관찰되었다. 입자크기, 생성물질의 구조 등의 특성은 반응온도와 반응원료물질에 의존하는 것이 관찰되었다. 선택적인 구조를 갖는 TiO₂입자의 합성이 가능하였고, 합성된 입자를 이용한 촉매를 사용하여 기상에서 TCE의 제거를 시도하였다.
