Analysis of Calcination Characteristics of Limestone in a Fluidized Bed Reactor
Abstract
Calcination of a limestone and paper waste sludge was carried out in a batch fluidized bed combustor with 0.109m~I.D. and 0.9m-height. Effects of particle size, temperature, feeding weight of limestone on calcination characteristics were studied. The temperature profiles and pressure fluctuation properties were measured to interpret the calcination characteristics in the fluidized bed reactor. The contents of CaCO3in the limestone and paper waste sludge were 96.2% and 61%, respectively. The pressure fluctuation properties such as mean pressure, standard deviation of pressure fluctuation and power spectrum density function were used to interpret the fluidization phenomena and calcination characteristics of the limestone in the fluidized bed. The activation energy of limestone calcination in the fluidized bed reactor was lower than those of other type of reactors due to high efficiency of fluidized bed reactor in the heat and mass transfer.

석회석과 석회석을 함유한 제지슬러지에 대한 유동층반응기에서의 소성반응특성을 해석하기 위하여 내경 0.109m의 유동층반응기에서 회분식 석회석 주입에 따른 유동화특성과 소성특성실험을 수행하였다. 입자크기, 온도, 투입량에 대하여 온도변화곡선, 압력요동특성치를 이용하여 회분식 유동층 반응기에서 석회석의 소성반응특성을 측정하였다. 평균압력, 압력요동의 표준편차, power spectrum density function의 압력요동특성치와 온도구배곡선을 이용하여 유동층반응기에서 층내유동화 현상과 석회석의 소성특성을 해석할 수 있었다. 유동층연소로에서 측정한 활성화에너지가 유동화특성으로 인하여 다른 반응장치에서의 값보다 작게 나타나고 있다.
